- Life is a journey full of options. We plan and strategize, trying to achieve our goals by mapping out the best route. But alternative paths will always appear along the road we travel. Sometimes we take these paths willingly, because they look fun & exciting or hold promises of great things ahead. Sometimes we take these paths out of necessity. Because the road we chose for ourselves suddenly becomes blocked, difficult to navigate and the only option is to go around. Sometimes these paths bring us back to the road we were on; sometimes we find ourselves off toward a completely new destination. If we ignore the detours, what will we miss? If we always look straight ahead at the road we’ve mapped out before us, will we see the majestic mountains rising up on the horizon or the friend around the bend? We will never know if we do not explore. Maybe it is safer to stay on the main road. But what adventures might we miss? What opportunities might pass us by? A detour may be the long way around, but may be the long way is the way we should have been going all along. Wherever life takes you; whatever road you are on; Make the most of every step and enjoy the scenery on the detours ahead.
